A home-made, hand-painted candymelt Easter rabbit nestled in a bed of spring buttercream blossom.
Here’s how you make the bunny….
Step 1
Get yourself a rabbit jelly mould. I found mine hiding in the back of my cupboard! A Silicon mold is easiest to work with, however it can still be done with a more rigid mold.
Step 2
Melt your Candymelts into a microwavable bowl as directed on the back of the packet.

Step 3
Spread the melted Candymelts into the mold. You can use a knife or the back of a spoon, whatever works best for you. You are looking to cover the whole of the inside of the mold. Work into all the nooks and crannies of the mold to avoid nasty air bubbles in your finished rabbit.

Step 4
Pop the whole mold in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Step 5
Repeat step 3 to cover the inside of the mold in a second layer of Candymelts. You will probably have to re-melt your remaining Candymelts as well before spooning it into the mold. You are looking to cover all the bits that still look thin, or where you can still see the silicon through the previous layer.
Step 5
Return to the fridge for another 30 minutes to set.
Step 6
If your mold is silicon then it is super easy to just gently peel the mold back to reveal your rabbit. If the mold is rigid like mine is then just ease the edges back a little all the way round and the put your fingers into the mold and ‘slip’ the set candymelt rabbit out. It just sort of gives and comes away as you grip it with your fingers.
Once you have done that you have your finished rabbit!
You could decorate him in loads of different ways.
I hand-paint mine using a new paintbrush and some black gel food colouring, however you could always decorate yours with chocolate buttons stuck on with a little icing sugar and water? Or how about piping some details with royal icing?

These hand-made bunnies give your endless creative options so let your imagination run wild and see where it takes you.
