The EPIC malteser christmas pudding cake!

I’m not the biggest fan of Christmas pudding so decided to create something more to my liking, but with more than a passing resemblance to that most classic of Christmas dishes.

This is what i came up with. A chocolate cake covered in chocolate buttercream and maltesers, then decorated with sugarpaste and silver luste dust.

I can tell you it went down brilliantly with friends and family…. and more importantly, me!

Tip*
You can make ‘ball’ cakes using a ball tin. They are hugely versatile, making cakes from footballs to ladybirds possible.

Hi how do you make the white on top?

      Hi Sarah,

The white bit on this one is just a rolled piece of fondant icing (sugarpaste) cut out into a round shape. However you could try using melted white chocolate and pouring it on top, or how about water icing (icing sugar and water mixed) and pouring that over. There are lots of options, cream maybe? Or white chocolate ganache? xxx
