There are few ‘labels’ whose designs are as pliable as Cath Kidston.
From those infamous handbags found on every high street to beautiful chintzy crockery to piles of sumptuous cushions in polka dot and florals, Cath does them all brilliantly.
You KNOW a design is good when it can adorn your ironing board and still look beautiful!
Although she has been around almost 20 years peddling ‘vintage chic’ and the ‘feel good factor’ with her twists on the grand house designs, Cath’s designs are as popular today as ever. They defy changing fashions, they’re light, they’re whimsical, they’re beautiful and so very sellable.
Cath’s designs blend seamlessly together meaning we can ‘cherry pick’ which patterns/themes we want, pile them together knowing they will make a gorgeous display! Creating a combination of designs gives that magical effect. Evoking that ‘attic treasure box’ filled with tumbles of glorious ‘fabrics’ each of them urging, ‘pick me, pick me!’
I doubt there are many women out there who couldn’t spot (usually followed by desire) a Kidston product then they saw one!
So! What better, more ‘in vogue’ inspiration could there be for the most darling collection of cupcakes? I’d say none at all.
If you want to get extra fancy with your Cath Kidston inspired cupcakes you could even bake a heart into the centre of each cupcake! But that would be showing off….

I’ve just seen you through flickr – how did you do those hearts inside the cupcakes? Looks fantastic!

Wow!! They are beautiful!! How do you get such a perfect domed top? I always struggle can’t wait ri try the heart technique, thank you so much xx
Amazing work. Can I ask where you got the rose stencil from please?
Many thanks
Hi Antoinette, the rose is hand-painted and not a stencil. You can get similar stencils from many craft/hobby/cake shops though that i’m sure would work just as well. xx
